This Autumn Wild-growing Purple Chrysanthemum Flower 2013 (EU standard) is an extremely unique and rare variety of chrysanthemum. It only grows up in one mountain in China located in Qiaoban village, Yanjia town, Chunan county, Zhejiang province. The mountain altitude is around 1460 meters and is called Yu San Jian, which means the mountain’s shape is similar to an umbrella. Currently, there is still no road directly to the tea farmers who harvest and process these flowers. My supplier has to stop at his village, park the vehicles and then climb the mountain road for about 3 kilometers before reaching the tea farmer's house.
This purple chrysanthemum flower is only plucked one time per year in mid October and has a limited yield per year. The highlights of this purple chrysanthemum are:
i) pesticide free chrysanthemum flowers. Unlike any other Chinese chrysanthemums, it is wild-growing in the mountains, and it produces a natural scent that can drive the worms or insects away.
ii) persistent fresh wild floral taste after many infusions.
From ancient times, chrysanthemum flowers have been used as a Chinese herbal tisane. In Chinese medicine it it noted for clearing away the body interior heat and toxic materials, quenching thirsts and anti-heat stroke in summer.
