Product Description

This Phoenix Dancong Oolong Sampler Pack selection provides you with an ability to sample a large variety of Dancong Oolong teas without investing in a single tea that you may not find to your liking. All of our Dancong is sourced directly from tea farmers. My tea supplier personally visits the farmers and selects only the finest teas.

Dancong Oolong tea is famous for its floral fragrance and long-lasting sweetness. In addition, the tea soup thickness is a characteristic that is highly sought-after by many tea connoisseurs.

Tea 1 - Tea 3: Mt. Wudong Song Spring Nonpareil, Imperial, and Premium Huang Zhi Xiang (Gardenia) Phoenix Dan Cong Oolong Teas

15 grams each for a total of 45 grams. We offer you the unique opportunity to sample the same tea prepared to three different production standards. Sample them side by side and see if you can differentiate the nuances.

This Huang Zhi Xiang (Gardenia) Dancong belongs to the gardenia aroma category. It has a natural, strong gardenia aroma that is very unique and pleasing when you smell it and drink the tea. The gardenia aroma is produced during the production process, and only the gardenia tea bush can create this aroma and taste. Other Dancong tea bush varieties have completely different bouquet and flavor profiles. After many infusions, the gardenia aroma still persists and some honey sweet taste is detectable on the palate.

This tea is a medium-roasted tea. You may store it at normal temperature for a long time. As an aged tea, this oolong has a better medical effect and is commonly consumed by locals.

Tea 4 - Tea 6: Mt. Wudong Song Spring Nonpareil, Imperial, and Premium Mi Lan Xiang (Honey Orchid) Phoenix Dan Cong Oolong Tea

15 grams each for a total of 45 grams. Just like the first three teas, we offer you the unique opportunity to sample the same tea prepared to three different production standards. Don't just look for taste differences. Observe the leaves before and after steeping. Check out the aroma of each as you open the package to see if you can detect nuances. Is the color of the prepared tea different? Aroma of the tea liquid different? Look for nuances that enhance your tasting experience. Sample with friends and compare notes.

The Mi Lan Xiang (Honey orchid) Dancong belongs to the honey aroma category. This is the absolute best of the best for this tea both in tea selection and processing. Our Mi Lan Xiang is sourced directly from tea farmers living in Mt Wudong. Only the high-mountain Mi Lan Xiang has the honey but floral aroma and taste. It has a delicate and sweet note, with long-lasting aftertaste that is pleasantly sweet. This tea can bear up to a high number of infusions and can compete with good Pu-Erh tea in that respect.

This tea is a high-roasted tea. You may store it at normal temperature and it can be stored for a long time. As an high-roasted tea, this oolong is reported to have better medicinal qualities and is commonly drank by local people.

Tea 7: Spring Imperial Yu Lan Xiang (Magnolia Aroma) Phoenix Dan Cong Oolong Tea

15 grams. Yu Lang Xiang (Magnolia aroma) belongs to the orchid aroma category. Its unique, natural magnolia (Yu Lang flower) aroma and honey taste is pleasing and lingers on the senses for a long time. While it belongs to orchid aroma category, its aroma and taste is quite different from Da Wu Ye (big black leaf) tea.

All of our light-roasted Dancong is stored in the freezer. It will maintain excellent freshness during storage.

Tea 8: Spring Imperial Jiang Hua Xiang (Ginger Flower) Phoenix Dan Cong Oolong Tea

15 grams. Jiang Hua Xiang (Ginger Flower) belongs to the ginger flower aroma category and possesses a very unique aroma and taste. It is very hard to make this natural ginger flower aroma, as it requires a teamaker with long years of experience and tremendous expertise to produce this aroma. During the production process, they must stay up all night through this tea-making season.

All of our light-roasted Dancong is stored in the freezer. It will maintain extreme freshness when stored this way.

Tea 9: Spring Imperial Da Wu Ye (big black leaf) Phoenix Dan Cong Oolong Tea

15 grams. Da Wu Ye (Big black leaf) belongs to the orchid aroma category and is a very pleasing and unique light-roasted Dancong. It has a soft tea taste and a high, clean, floral aroma. This spring tea has the best tasting tea liquid and highest aroma compared to other season's harvest.

Tea 10: Imperial Songzhong Zhi Lan Xiang (Orchid Aroma) Phoenix Dan Cong Oolong

15 grams. This is a light-roasted tea that may be infused 8 times or more in your gaiwan. There is no bitterness or astringency. After sipping the tea liquid, the whole mouth and palate are filled with the aroma mixed with sweet taste.

Zhi Lan Xiang belongs to the orchid aroma category. Its unique, natural aroma and honey taste are pleasing and linger for a long time. However, though it belongs to orchid aroma category, its aroma and taste is quite different from Da Wu Ye (big black leaf).

For light-roasted fragrant Dancong, the tea farmer must be extremely skilled in the tea-making process in order to attain the correct aroma and taste from the tea. Our supplier gathers the tea direct from the farmers and producers and personally screens the tea each year for quality.

Tea 11: Imperial Xing Ren Xiang (Almond Aroma) Phoenix Dan Cong Oolong

15 grams. Our Xing Ren Xiang Dan Cong (almond aroma) is made by Lin Songzhu, a reknown tea farmer and producer in Gonghou village, Mt Wudong. Lin Songzhu carefully selects the Ju Duo Zhai trees with an age of around 80 years on his tea plantation for this particular tea production. This tea requires great attention to detail and he stays with the tea day and night during the production process. Our Xing Ren Xiang Dan Cong embodies full, rich, deep natural almond aroma and taste. The light honey mixed with strong almond creates a complex mouth feeling after sipping the tea liquid and deep throat feeling.

The higher the altitude that tea trees grow on the mountain, the smaller and thinner the Dan Cong tea leaves become. So that is why Xing Ren Xiang Dan Cong dry leaves are tight and thin. Due to high mountain tea leaves and skillful production techniques, you will notice that even after infusing several times in your gaiwan, the tea leaves are still quite twisted and not open yet; this is another good characteristic of high-mountain tea combines with masterful production technique.

All of our light-roasted Dancong is stored in the freezer. It will maintain an excellent freshness until you receive it.

In total, you get 165 grams of an outstanding selection of Dan Cong oolong teas. Many of these teas are seldom seen outside of China. Enjoy!
