Our Jin Mao Hou "Golden Monkey" 2016 Spring Imperial Black Tea is named after the appearance of its tea leaves looking like the lightly-curved golden hair from a monkey.

More information

Carefully hand-picked one bud with one leaf, direct from the tea workshop in Fuan county, Fujiang province, China. Processed using a careful series of Gongfu making steps, this tea enjoys very rich, full body taste with complex, constantly-change mouth feeling after sipping the tea liquid; Fruity aroma and sticky taste with lingering sweetness in the mouth without any bitterness or astringency.

Note: tested for European market.

Shape: tight, lightly-curved stick shape

Dried tea color: bloom dark color with tippy golden tea bud

How to prepare

Use water heated to around 203°F, infuse about 3 to 5 minutes. 1 tsp. per 8 ounces of water. Use a teapot or gaiwan.

    Yes! This is how Golden Monkey is supposed to be done. It's chocolatey, not the least bit astringent, and most importantly, it's wonderfully dirty-tasting. If you're familiar with GM, then you know exactly what I mean. My mouth watered as soon as I unsealed the pouch, and I was not disappointed once I steeped a cup and sucked it down. I highly, highly recommend this tea.
