The maocha for this Jinggu Bo Lin 2009 Raw Pu-erh Tea Cake was purchased during a trip Scott Wilson made to Si Mao and Ban Na at the end of March 2009. The tea is from Jing Gu area of Si Mao called Bo Lin Mountain. The tea itself comes from naturally growing (wild arbor) trees between 50 and 70 years old and is entirely first flush. The tea is characteristically Jinggu, and is plump and heavy with fat, white buds. The taste is sweet but with a vegetal pungent cha qi that will transform gradually into a sugarcane like richness! In total 150 kilograms were produced of this tea. The tea was pressed exclusively for Yunnan Sourcing but bears the label of the Chun Pu Cha Hang, the factory it was pressed in.
