The Menghai Dayi Brand 2009 "Gong Ting" Ripe Pu-erh Tea is from the Menghai Tea Factory in Yunnan province, China. "Dayi" is their proprietary brand. "Gong Ting" literally means "the palace ripe" pu-erh tea. As you might expect from a tea called "palace ripe," the maocha must meet extremely high standards. The highest quality of tea buds are selected for this tea. After the piling fermentation, the fermented golden buds are selected by wind sieving. The tea soup is smooth, subtle and mellow, with a high and charming aroma. (See "About the Menghai Tea Factory" on our blog.)
