This Menghai Dayi Brand 2010 "8582" Raw Pu-erh Tea (001) is a classic recipe from the Menghai Tea Factory that is composed of chopped and blended tea leaves. This is the first production of 2010 and is known as batch 001.
The first two numbers in the recipe (8582) name indicate that the recipe was first introduced in 1985. The third number in the recipe indicates that this cake on the average contains an average of 8th grade tea leaf material (maocha). The fourth number in the recipe indicates that the tea originates from the Menghai Tea Factory.
While many people think that a 2010 production has only 2010 tea leaves, the truth is that the cake actually contains a blend of 2008-2010 tea leaves. This is one of the reasons that the Menghai Tea Factory is able to take some of the "green" edge off of a brand new production. The grade 8 tea leaves used in this recipe are coarser and larger than 7542 and 7532 recipe cakes; 7542 uses an average of grade 4 leaves while 7532 uses an average of grade 3 leaves. Preferences vary but many people find that they prefer this recipe to the 7542 or the 7532.
Net Weight: 357 grams per cake
