The tea poetry on the pot is about the beauty of Mengding mountain green tea. Mengding mountain is located in the Sichuan province.
Mengding Mountain, the origin of Tea-horse Ancient Road from Sichuan to Tibet, is known as the cradleland of tea culture in China. It is said that Wu Lizhen, the founding father of tea, has grown wild tea on the Mountain and thus started the history of growing tea by people since the Western Han Dynasty (about 2200 years ago). Mengding tea was the most popular in Tang and Song Dynasties and was even chosen as a tribute to the royal families in the year 742. The emperor took it to offer sacrifices to the heaven and earth and this tradition remained in the following 1200 years until Qing dynasty.
So this poetry is about the excellent taste of using Yangsze river water to brew Mengding mountain tea.
