This Tea Set is Chinese Red Porcelain and consists of 1 Gaiwan, 1 Pitcher, and 6 Cups. Very unique and stylish.
Producing these red porcelain wares is quite difficult, requiring very sophisticated techniques in handling the kiln to prevent undesired effects. Only about 10-20% of red wars products that are started are actually finished successfully. The kiln has to be fired four different times to achieve the shiny red glaze associated with this porcelain teaset. For the Chinese and much of Asia red signifies good luck and happiness.
