These are very unique Chinese red porcelain teacups. The red porcelain is very hard to produce, requiring very skilled technicians operating the kiln to get the right effects. The kiln has to be fired four times to complete the glaze and produce that shiny red so that it attaches to the porcelain. Only about 10-20% of the wares are actually completed successfully which accounts for the cost of these beautiful works of art.
