Wuyi Rock Oolong Tea Da Hong Pao "Big Red Robe" Medium-Roasted Imperial Zheng Yan Pure is quite exceptional.
Da Hong Pao oolong tea is famous for its unique floral fragrance and a particular Wuyi rock tea taste. Of the six mother Da Hong Pao tea trees in Jiu Long Ke, Wuyi Shan city, there are actually three tea tree cultivars: Que She, Bei Dou, Qi Dan. In 2006, the Wuyishan Government stipulated that it was forbidden to pick tea from the 6 mother trees. Hence, all the Da Hong Pao in the market is actually created from cuttings from the mother trees which are called pure Da Hong Pao. There are also some blended teas such as Rou Gui, Shui Xian and several other Wuyi teas that are blended and commonly referred to as commodity Da Hong Pao.
This Da Hong Pao is made from the cuttings from the original mother trees of Qidan, which are genetically identical plants. Its rock tea taste and high floral aroma are extremely well-received by many tea drinkers who are looking for the pure Da Hong Pao.
This tea is from the Zheng Yan area in Wuyishan which is famous for creating a very strong rock tea taste. The tea liquid is very alive and has a strong floral note and sweet aftertaste. Once you experience this taste and fragrance, it will be forever imprinted in your memory.
All of our Wuyi rock teas are baked extremely slowly by charcoal and only arrive on the market in August of every year. So the new Wuyi rock tea still has a little bit charcoal feeling in taste. As the tea breathes in the open air, the charcoal aroma will disappear slowly and the tea's original taste and aroma will come out.
All of medium to high-roasted Wuyi rock tea can be stored for over 2-3 years.
